The global celebration of the 33rd International Coastal Cleanup Day will be on September 15, 2018, Saturday with the theme: “Building a Clean Swell for Future Generations”. Come and be part of the solution for our ocean's health. Bring your gloves, sacks or net bags and your Ocean Trash Data Form. No registration fees. Registration will be from 6 - 7 AM. The ever-increasing ocean trash – plastic waste in particular – has produced nothing less than a global crisis for ocean waters, marine wildlife and habitat, human health and safety, wasted resources and lost revenues for many nations. Fortunately, this is one environmental issue that can be addressed by tackling trash at the source before it has a chance to reach the water and by changing the behaviors that allow trash into the water in the first place. International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) provides the opportunity to make a difference in a global movement by getting rid of trash/debris from our shorelines, rivers, lakes and waterways; raising environmental awareness; and providing information which will guide and influence governments, corporations and industries in developing smart solutions to the marine debris problem. Manila Bay 2009 International Coastal Cleanup

The month of September falls on the rainy season during which the prevailing monsoon winds and typhoons are a common occurrence, creating much uncertainty to organize outdoor events and carousing. However, rain or shine, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers will merged down the shores, coasts and waterways this 19th of September 2009 for the 24th International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) to manifest their concern for the ocean environment. ICC is the largest global cleanup event held annualy every third Saturday of September. Launched in 1986 by Ocean Conservancy (formerly, Center for Marine Conservation), ICC's mission is to engage people to remove trash and debris from the world's beaches, rivers and waterways, to identify the sources of debris and to change behaviors that cause pollution.
