Manila Bay 2009 International Coastal Cleanup
The month of September falls on the rainy season during which the prevailing monsoon winds and typhoons are a common occurrence, creating much uncertainty to organize outdoor events and carousing. However, rain or shine, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers will merged down the shores, coasts and waterways this 19th of September 2009 for the 24th International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) to manifest their concern for the ocean environment. ICC is the largest global cleanup event held annualy every third Saturday of September. Launched in 1986 by Ocean Conservancy (formerly, Center for Marine Conservation), ICC's mission is to engage people to remove trash and debris from the world's beaches, rivers and waterways, to identify the sources of debris and to change behaviors that cause pollution.
